Hi Fozzie, thanks for sharing these informations. Do you carry both sleeping bags all the time? And the ice axe? Do you carry all 5 PCT Books or how you manage to get them in the right place at the right time?
Hi Thomas, I don't carry both the bags no. The original advice I researched recommended a 25F (-7C) bag for all of the PCT but this is far too warm for me. Western mountaineering have kindly loaned me the Summerlite bag (35F) now things are a bit warmer. The ice axe is back at my uncles because hopefully, from the news I am recieving, the worst of the snow is over. I carry one PCT book at a time for that section. I keep most of my gear at my uncles over here who mails it to me if and when I need it, and I also mail stuff back to them to hold onto when I don't need it. The ice axe and sleeping bag are with them. The rest of the PCT books are in my 'bounce box'. This is a box that contains stuff I need need on the trip but do not need to carry (shaving stuff, spare batteries, equipment spares etc). I mail this ahead of me and catch up with it every 2 weeks or so. Hope you're enjoying the blog! Fozzie

Fozzie is your trail name huh? Well that is good to know. I met you on the trail last week somewhere between Highway 50 at Echo Summit and Highway 88 at Carson Pass, I had one friend with me plus my German Shepherd dog do you remember? Well you wrote your blog address down on my map that I handed you and you used my felt tip marker. I am finding your video's very informative for what I should pack. My buddy and I commented on the look on your face when we told you how heavy our packs were compared to yours LOL. It was comical, we are such amateurs, but we are learning from you now. I am determined to at least get my pack down to 30lbs on my next trip but then I will have to really stream line my stuff and what figure out what I really don't need. I will have questions for you in the future. I am following your blog and hope you make it to your destination and your goal. Thank you and good luck Tater
