Blisters

This looks worse that it is - really! The two toes on the end of my right food have given me a few problems since the start but believe it or not, this is the healing process. My new shoes are bedding in and my toes now have far more freedom inside to move about as opposed to being crushed by my old ones. Once I'm walking they're fine, it's just the getting going that hurts!

  1. Gross toes. Good luck in tackling the high sierras - when do you expect to hit oregan?

It would be great to see some wildlife shots.. Indiginous flora, vulture, wild cat or rattlers would do nicely!

  2. Keith, we're friends of Aud and charlie, living in Oregon near Corvallis-- the PCT runs near Mt. Washington, near us-- we could meet? take you back here, feed you, laundry, gear repair, whatever. There's still a lot of snow around 4000ft as you are probably noting. e-mail is seymour.house@mtangel.edu

  3. Keith, what are your thoughts on trying to keep on schedule with the milage everyday? I would imagine that in the back of your mind one is always thinking about how many mile you have walked and how many you should be walking. Possibly thinking that you feel good today so you may walk a little further to develop a cushion for those days that you don't make the miles you should...your insight?

    Aud:
I haven't looked at timings with Oregon yet. I look a week or two ahead at most, i don't like schedules. I'll work on the wildlife shots!
    Thanks for following - Fozzie.

That's a very generous offer and I would initially say yes, and thanks! I'll take a note of your email and contact you nearer the time. What is your name?! Best to contact me through email which is: fozzieman@yahoo.com
    Thanks - Fozzie

    Wanderer:
Daily mileage is always on my mind. From the start I set a target of 15 per day for the first 3 weeks and then I wanted to go up to 20, and then set a ceiling of 25 or so. Because of my feet I am still on 15 per day although I have done some 25's and a 28. My only schedule is a minus 6 month finish time, I don't like too many plans.
    Thanks - Fozzie
